Children with dyslexia can learn to read through a structured literacy approach that focuses on building skills that are necessary for word level reading. At Ascend Dyslexia Tutoring, we focus on building phonemic proficiency, phonic decoding, and orthographic mapping skills. 

On average, students receiving 1-2 sessions weekly over the course of 6 months will make an expected 80% growth in their grade level reading fluency (words read correctly in a minute/WCPM). For example, a student reading 50 WCPM are expected to read 90 WCPM after 6 months of tutoring.
